Smiling is infectious..  so go ahead and smile

Last year, there was lots of talk about swine flu infecting the world.  Well, try another sort of infection - smiling.  Giving gifts to make others feel good, connected & noticed doesn't have to cost anything - giving someone a smile costs you nothing!  And it can really mean a lot to someone that another human being has just made contact with them.  It lifts your spirits, too.

Smiling is infectious
You catch it like the flu
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too

I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realised
I'd passed it on to him

I thought about that smile;
then I realised its worth.
A single smile, just like mine,
could travel around the earth!

So if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic, quick -
and get the world infected!

but what a great poem!

The world

"Everyone smiles in the same language."

Smile little girl
Today, give a stranger
one of your smiles.
It might be the only
sunshine he sees all day.
